Engineering at Vinted is divided into Infrastructure and Product. This position is for Product Engineering, where teams develop new features from start to finish and roll them out to all our members or internal users. The teams are led by engineering managers who will report to you. We’re looking for the Director of Engineering who would contribute to the Vinted vision of making second-hand the first choice by leading the Help Experience (HEX) domain. In this role, you would tackle the versatile challenges ahead. 

• Empower over 50 million Vinted members with seamless support solutions, including an intelligent chatbot, a comprehensive help center, and an efficient internal ticketing system utilized by more than 2,000 support specialists, ensuring they have the tools they need whenever they encounter an issue.
• Develop the core infrastructure powering seamless support for millions, including not just an intelligent chatbot interface, but also the critical underlying APIs. These APIs will empower both the chatbot and human support specialists to efficiently execute various actions related to member accounts and transactions. On top of that, you will get access to the latest available AI tools and technologies and be able to develop and test them on a very large scale.
• Lead and inspire a vibrant, international team spanning 4+ countries, collaborating closely with product, data, design, and key business stakeholders. Drive rapid product development while proactively managing technical debt and ensuring robust strategies are in place to maintain a healthy and scalable platform.

• Create, align, and execute the domain’s vision and strategy together with the rest of the domain leadership (Product Management, Design, and Data Science & Analytics).
• Ensure that engineering in your domain enables the achievement of domain vision while meeting Vinted-wide engineering principles.
• Be accountable for domain delivery management while balancing competing deliverables (tech strategy vs business initiatives).
• Search for organizational efficiency all the time (processes and procedures between the teams, change management, talent development, team member experience, overall domain budget).
• Lead and support your team of 3-5 Engineering Managers (potentially expanding to 7 over time), a Staff Engineer, and, if needed, an Agile Coach. Focus on their professional and personal development to ensure high team performance.

• Demonstrated strong leadership skills, including proven experience in change management and the ability to elevate engineering leadership standards.
• Must possess influential leadership to motivate and support team growth at the director level.
• A confident, direct, and decisive personality with robust problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to define and shape the technical vision and strategy.
• Expertise in thriving within fast-paced environments and effectively managing frequent changes and competing priorities.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder management, negotiation, and effectively pitching ideas to maintain organizational alignment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, attentive to others, open to feedback, and capable of forming independent opinions.
• Proficiency in optimizing organizational efficiency through change management, refining processes and procedures, and fostering a "get stuff done" (GSD) culture.

The salary range for this position is € 7,758- € 10,492 gross per month.
