Engineering Manager, Order
Brief info about Vinted
Our mission is to make second-hand the first choice, and we're looking for people who want to help us get there. Every day, we work together to help our members buy and sell pre-loved clothing and lifestyle items, giving each piece a second life – or even a third.
The Vinted Group is made up of three business units that support this mission:
Vinted Marketplace is Europe’s leading platform for second-hand fashion and a go-to destination for all kinds of pre-loved items, with a growing range of categories. Our platform connects millions of members across 20+ markets, helping great items find a new life.
Vinted Go enhances the shipping experience with a vast network of over 500,000 pick-up and drop-off points, partnering with more than 60 carriers across Europe, with added services like item verification for peace of mind on high-value pieces.
Vinted Pay is the newest part of the Vinted Group, dedicated to bringing secure, reliable payments to buyers and sellers across Europe. Seamlessly integrated into the Vinted app, it helps keep every transaction safe, efficient, and easy for our members.
Founded in 2008 in Lithuania, Vinted began as a way for friends to find new homes for clothes they no longer needed. In 2019, we became Lithuania's first unicorn! Today, our headquarters remain in Vilnius, and we've grown with offices across Europe, supported by a team of over 2,000 people. Our backers include Accel, EQT Growth, Insight Partners, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Sprints, and TPG.
Information about the position
We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to join the Order domain within Vinted Marketplace Engineering for a 1-year maternity cover.
In this role, you will lead a team of 6 engineers focused on the modularization of Order domain services - extracting critical functionality from the Core monolith into well-owned, scalable services.
Your mission is to deliver these extractions efficiently and safely, applying engineering best practices (architecture, reliability, observability, testing, and migration strategy) while partnering closely with the Order domain’s product team. You’ll also navigate multiple cross-domain dependencies, aligning interfaces and delivery plans to keep progress unblocked.
By strengthening the Order domain’s foundations, you’ll help Vinted make second-hand the first choice by building technology that enables geo-expansion and scalability.
In this position, you’ll
Be accountable for:
- People in the team (ensuring that we have great people working in true harmony)
- Processes and procedures in a team (working in the right ways on the right things)
- Delivery management (get stuff done)
- Engineering quality – fostering high standards in code, architecture, and technical practices to ensure sustainable, reliable solutions
In practice, it means:
- Lead a team of ±6 engineers
- Build a strong team culture rooted in trust, ownership, and continuous learning
- Foster growth in others while growing as a leader yourself
- Ensure the team’s delivery according to the quarterly roadmap
- Creating an environment where quality is not just expected - it’s second nature
Your future fellow engineering managers in Order are defining what they do as follows:
- “What I enjoy most about the Engineering Manager role is leading a senior team and creating the environment where they can do their best work—high ownership, high productivity, and a sustainable pace. I like enabling engineers to tackle complex technical challenges, supporting strong technical decision-making, and seeing the team deliver high-quality, reliable solutions through clear goals, good collaboration, and solid engineering practices.” - Gintarė
- “Inspiring people to become better versions of themselves, sometimes letting them fall and helping them get up or finding a way to get up themselves” - Gediminas
About you
- Like getting things done and done well
- Have experience leading a software engineering team and delivering outcomes that you are proud of
- Know how to improve team efficiency
- Like working with people and helping them
- Know a thing or two about stakeholder management
- “Embracing uncertainty” is a phrase that does not scare you
- You can easily articulate the following terms: service-oriented architecture, monolithic vs modular architecture, tight vs loose coupling, technical debt, etc. You don’t have to know them in-depth, but a basic understanding will help you perform better by a mile
