Brief info about Vinted
Our mission is to make second-hand the first choice, and we're looking for people who want to help us get there. Every day, we work together to help our members buy and sell pre-loved clothing and lifestyle items, giving each piece a second life – or even a third.
The Vinted Group is made up of three business units that support this mission:
Vinted Marketplace is Europe’s leading platform for second-hand fashion and a go-to destination for all kinds of pre-loved items, with a growing range of categories. Our platform connects millions of members across 20+ markets, helping great items find a new life.
Vinted Go enhances the shipping experience with a vast network of over 500,000 pick-up and drop-off points, partnering with more than 60 carriers across Europe, with added services like item verification for peace of mind on high-value pieces.
Vinted Pay is the newest part of the Vinted Group, dedicated to bringing secure, reliable payments to buyers and sellers across Europe. Seamlessly integrated into the Vinted app, it helps keep every transaction safe, efficient, and easy for our members.
Founded in 2008 in Lithuania, Vinted began as a way for friends to find new homes for clothes they no longer needed. In 2019, we became Lithuania's first unicorn! Today, our headquarters remain in Vilnius, and we've grown with offices across Europe, supported by a team of over 2,000 people. Our backers include Accel, EQT Growth, Insight Partners, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Sprints, and TPG.
Information about the position
We’re looking for a Senior II iOS Engineer to join our Marketplace Security domain. The domain covers registration and login, preventing malicious accounts, and protecting member accounts from takeover.
You’ll join a dedicated anti‑bot team that focuses on understanding and combating bot activity and abusive automation on Vinted. The team works at the intersection of marketplace, engineering and security, using both in‑house solutions and carefully selected third‑party tools.
This is a greenfield, a discovery‑heavy space. We’re still defining how we measure and tackle bot activity across Vinted, and you’ll play a key role in shaping that on iOS.
In this position, you’ll
- Be the go‑to iOS engineer for the anti‑bot area in Marketplace Security
- Design and implement iOS capabilities to detect and mitigate bots and abusive automation
- Implement and maintain iOS‑side instrumentation and signals that feed our bot metrics and detection systems
- Build and own shared iOS frameworks / SDK‑like components that other iOS teams can integrate for consistent bot protections
- Work closely with mobile, backend, data, product and security peers to understand new bot patterns and respond effectively
- Balance strong protection with a smooth member experience, as well as privacy and legal constraints
- Use feature flags, rollouts and metrics to release changes safely and learn from real‑world impact
About you
- You have strong experience building and maintaining complex iOS apps in Swift
- Experience building internal iOS frameworks or SDKs used by multiple teams (stable APIs, versioning, deprecation strategies)
- You care about engineering quality: testing, performance, observability and clean architecture
- Experience with incident response on mobile – working with feature flags, staged rollouts and fast collaboration with backend/security teams
- You’ve operated at a Senior II level – leading initiatives, making platform‑level decisions and mentoring other engineers
- You’re comfortable working in metrics‑ and data‑driven environments, not just shipping features
- You have a track record in discovery‑heavy and greenfield work where the problem and solution space evolve over time
- You keep an eye on new AI‑driven developer tools and help your team decide which are worth adopting
- You communicate clearly in spoken and written English
Nice to have
- Experience in security, fraud/abuse prevention, trust & safety, or other risk‑heavy products
- Experience with code obfuscation, anti‑tampering techniques, or app integrity checks on iOS
Work perks
- The opportunity to benefit from our share options programme
- 25 working days of holiday
- Access to all the tools & tech needed for work
- Home office support: we provide IT workstation equipment and a personal budget of up to €540 for home workplace furniture
- Private health insurance
- Mental and emotional health support through the Mindletic app
- Frequent team-building events
- A personal monthly budget for shopping on Vinted
- The opportunity to spend up to 90 days per year - 21 of which can be spent working outside of the EU - on workation
- A dog-friendly office
- In Vilnius office: Gym & in-house meals at friendly prices
- In Kaunas office: a monthly lunch allowance, and a once-a-week provided in-house lunch and breakfast
