Information about the position 

We are looking for an Engineer who would help us to evolve and maintain our data centers. Currently, we have more than 6000 physical servers, deployed in our data centers.

We manage our whole infrastructure - configuration as code in git repositories, automated tests on every pull request and tooling for quick deployments at a scale. Our switches run Cumulus Linux, Sonic and are connected in Clos topology. Even some of our servers run BGP daemon.

This position is in the Production engineering Foundations team, responsible for data centers, servers and other infrastructure components we use as base building blocks for our services. We are looking for an engineer, who would specialize in the data center field and would develop a good understanding of the whole scope of the team's technologies.

In this position, you’ll 

  • Rack new servers and unrack old servers
  • Debug data center hardware (servers, network) and book support tickets
  • Communicate with support vendors, collect and send logs, take care about access for engineers.
  • Help Vinted engineers develop performant, secure and scalable services
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in our data center and build solutions to implement them
  • Monitor and debug problems in production to meet established SLO's
  • Monitor hardware, cables and other inventory stock.
  • Collaborate with the team on other infrastructure projects
  • Travel between 3 data centers which are located about 200km from each other.

About you 

  • Strong communication and problem solving skills
  • Strong hardware servers, network equipments and other data center equipments knowledge
  • Have hands-on experience on datacenter hardware
  • DC capacity management experience
  • DCIM software knowledge (NetBox, Nlyte, Sunbird or other)
  • Expert in English languages
  • Driving license
