Information about the position 

As an Analytics Engineer, you will ensure that the People department has access to high-quality, reliable data to support business and analytical needs. Reporting to the Director of Data Science & Analytics, you will be part of the Vinted Data Science & Analytics Guild, collaborating with Analytics Engineers from across the company to share knowledge and best practices. Your work will directly empower People Business Partners and senior leadership to make data-driven decisions, shaping how we manage and grow our teams.

In this role, you will own the entire data pipeline, from ingesting data from operational systems like Workday, Greenhouse, and Peakon to building well-structured data marts that drive reporting and analysis in Looker. Given the nature of people data, you will design a privacy-conscious data architecture, ensuring compliance while handling sensitive information securely. Our tech stack includes BigQuery, dbt, Python, Looker, and Airflow, and you will play a key role in building scalable, efficient data solutions that improve decision-making across the business.

In this position, you’ll 

  • Extract and integrate data from key operational systems such as Workday, Greenhouse, and Peakon to ensure a seamless flow of information.
  • Design, develop, and maintain efficient and reliable data models and pipelines, with a strong focus on data privacy and security.
  • Collaborate closely with People department stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into robust, scalable solutions.
  • Empower end-users by optimising data models, providing clear documentation, training, and promoting best practices for data usage.
  • Investigate and resolve issues in production processes, ensuring data integrity and system reliability.
  • Proactively identify and implement improvements that enhance the impact of Data Science and Analytics across Vinted.

About you 

  • Proven experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or ETL Development, with a strong understanding of data infrastructure and workflows.
  • Expertise in SQL, along with working knowledge of a programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Solid understanding of data modelling principles (e.g., Kimball, Inmon) and data storage techniques. At minimum, you can confidently distinguish between facts and dimensions.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, with a commitment to clean, well-documented code and best practices in data management.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of working cross-functionally and translating business needs into effective technical solutions.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly.
  • Bonus: Interest or experience in People-related roles.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with dbt.

The base salary range (excluding holiday pay) for this position is €50,200 - €68,000 gross per year.
