Information about the position 

In this position, you will join the Trust & Safety Domain with a mission to protect the Vinted community from harmful activities and content, including phishing, fraud, and counterfeiting. Safeguarding involves continuous monitoring of platform activity and enforcing sanctions against fraudulent Vinted members.

Your main focus will be to transform raw data into clean, optimized datasets that are easily accessible for analysis, decision-making, and machine learning applications.

As part of this role, you will join a small, cross-country team of Analytics Engineers, as well as the Trust & Safety Data Science and Analytics unit that also consist of Data Scientist and Decision Scientist.

To understand your role within Data Science & Analytics context better, here are brief descriptions of each role we have in the department:

  • Decision Scientists are responsible for actionable insights, identifying and sizing opportunities, and automated tools that increase the quality of product and business decisions by applying statistical methods and data-driven decision making.
  • Analytics Engineers are responsible for data curation – translating data needs from stakeholders into architecting, building and maintaining efficient & reliable data models and pipelines.
  • Data Scientists are responsible for identification of algorithmic opportunities, ensuring those opportunities are addressed in an optimal fashion and design, development and maintenance of production-grade statistical and machine learning algorithms.

In this position, you’ll 

  • Collaborate continuously with data and business stakeholders across the company to gather data requirements.
  • Develop and sustain efficient and reliable data models and pipelines for both external and internal data.
  • Enable optimal use of data models by optimizing data flows, providing documentation, conducting training, and monitoring adherence to best practices.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to address and resolve issues in data production processes.
  • Participate in various company-wide analytics engineering projects and initiatives.

About you 

  • Experience in roles like Analytics Engineer, ETL Developer, Data Analyst/Scientist, Data Engineer, or a similar data-focused position.
  • Proficient in SQL with additional experience in other programming languages such as Python or R.
  • Experience with operating within cloud environments like Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Knowledgeable in data access, transformation and storage techniques.
  • Quick learner with a readiness to embrace new technologies.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English.
  • Advantage: experience with data engineering for MLOps.
