Information about the position 

In the Seller domain, we equip sellers with powerful tools to enhance their experience, focusing on features that improve visibility, convenience, and monetization. This includes paid features like item and wardrobe promotion as well as advertising solutions.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our cross-functional product team in building the Vinted Ads Network, a brand-new internal tool developed in Golang. This platform enables our internal users to create and manage ad campaigns on Vinted, handling millions of ad impressions while prioritising performance and scalability.

The product also incorporates complex functionalities, such as advanced ad selection algorithms, extensive user targeting, and in-depth reporting capabilities. As we finalise the MVP, we have an ambitious roadmap ahead, packed with exciting features. You'll collaborate with talented backend engineers on this backend-heavy product, helping shape its future.

In this position, you’ll 

  • Develop and enhance services using Golang* and technologies like Kafka, Redis, MySQL, Vespa, Apache Flink, and Ruby on Rails.
  • Impact millions of users by building solutions that handle 2M+ requests per minute. Your work will be deployed to production immediately with each merge.
  • Write high-quality code with comprehensive unit test coverage and actively monitor deployments using Kibana, Grafana, and DataDog.
  • Collaborate with product and business teams to understand product decisions, contribute technical and product initiatives to the backlog, and help prioritise them effectively.
  • Learn and grow by working alongside backend and frontend engineers, gaining exposure to diverse technologies and best practices.

* No prior experience with Golang is required. We’ll provide the support and time needed to get familiar with our tech stack. In the interview, we’ll assess your expertise in the backend language you know best.

About you

  • Eager to learn and adapt - excited to master new technologies, explore new tools (e.g., Kubernetes), and learn languages like Golang or Ruby on Rails.
  • Experienced in building large-scale applications, with a solid understanding of distributed systems, CI/CD pipelines, and service-oriented architecture.
  • Strong communicator in English, able to discuss complex topics clearly and professionally while fostering constructive discussions.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented, enjoying knowledge-sharing and contributing to a positive, cooperative work environment.
  • Passionate about backend development, committed to writing clean, maintainable code, and designing systems that prioritise accuracy and quality.
