The Protect & Support Analytics Engineering area sits within Vinted's Marketplace business unit. We are a centralized team of Analytics Engineers supporting three domains that together keep our platform safe and trustworthy for millions of users:

• Security focused on detecting and stopping bad actors as they register, log in, or attempt to abuse the platform.
• Trust responsible for identifying and preventing negative user experiences caused by scams, counterfeits, illegal listings, and harmful behavior.
• Technologies reporting and experimenting on platform improvements to make Vinted faster, more reliable, and more resilient for our users.

The data this team works with is among the most sensitive and consequential at Vinted. You will be building and owning the data infrastructure that directly informs how we protect our users, so accuracy, reliability, and a genuine care for data quality are non-negotiable.

• Independently architect, build, and maintain complex data models and pipelines that power our Trust, Security, and Technologies domains, including ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and quality monitoring
• Own your solutions completely: from engaging stakeholders and clarifying data needs through to delivering reliable, performant, and easy-to-use data products, without requiring support even when no established approach exists
• Develop a deep mastery of the data within your area across its entire lifecycle, from raw source systems through to the business metrics and decisions it drives, and maintain an up-to-date understanding of Vinted's broader data stack
• Proactively identify and address technical debt, data quality issues, and gaps in coverage before they become problems
• Bring valuable input to team and area strategy and roadmap discussions, and anticipate changes in data needs based on your understanding of how Trust and Security dynamics evolve
• Initiate and drive knowledge sharing within the area and relevant guilds, setting a high bar for code quality and documentation that others can learn from
• Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, engineers, and domain experts to ensure the data we produce is accurate, understood, and acted upon

• Hands on experience in an Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or closely related role (typically around 4+ years)
• Strong SQL skills, including query execution plans, join algorithms, partition pruning, and how underlying data is physically stored. You can diagnose and fix a slow query and explain exactly why it was slow
• Solid experience with dbt and BigQuery, including complex data modelling patterns and managing pipelines at scale
• You take full ownership of your work: you define the problem, design the solution, deliver it reliably, and measure its impact without waiting to be directed
• You fully understand the data you own: its sources, its quirks, its limitations, and how it gets used by the people who depend on it
• Comfortable handling sensitive data and aware of the responsibility that comes with it; you apply privacy and security considerations as a matter of course
• An interest in online safety, fraud prevention, or trust and security; you understand why the work matters
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Experience with Airflow or similar orchestration tooling is a plus

The salary range for this position is € 4,608 - € 6,233 gross per month.
