At Vinted, backend engineers are part of cross-functional product teams that include Mobile, Web, and Backend engineers, as well as a product manager, designer, and decision scientist. Backend engineers are responsible for implementing business logic, developing APIs for our mobile and web platforms, and scaling our backend systems to meet growing platform needs.

The Purchase domain guides members from the initial intent to buy to the successful purchase of the desired item. It is composed of several teams that work on delivering smooth checkout, payment, shipping, and messaging functionality to our users.

We’re looking for Senior Backend Engineers to strengthen the messaging subdomain.

Messaging subdomain is focused on building Vinted’s messaging experience - a key feature that enables members to communicate, negotiate prices, receive order updates, contact support, and much more. 

Our teams are seeking someone who writes clean code and enjoys working on large-scale projects. Your daily focus will involve heavy product-side experimentation, technical excellence within a microservices architecture, and contributions to company-level initiatives.

• Drive and Own E2E Initiatives: Lead complex, end-to-end initiatives from architectural design to production delivery, ensuring seamless integration across the stack.

• Collaborative Leadership: Apply Agile/Lean principles through rigorous GitHub code reviews and partner across teams to align roadmaps and deliver results.
• Trusted Stability: Participate in on-call rotations, focusing on root-cause analysis and comprehensive post-mortems to ensure long-term system health.
• Radical Candor: Provide and seek direct, impactful feedback to foster a culture of continuous growth and technical excellence.

• API Architect: You bring deep experience in designing and implementing RESTful services, with the ability to architect robust, scalable APIs that ensure a seamless experience for 85 million users.
