AML/CTF Quality Assurance Specialist
Brief info about Vinted
Our mission is to make second-hand the first choice, and we're looking for people who want to help us get there. Every day, we work together to help our members buy and sell pre-loved clothing and lifestyle items, giving each piece a second life – or even a third.
The Vinted Group is made up of three business units that support this mission:
Vinted Marketplace is Europe’s leading platform for second-hand fashion and a go-to destination for all kinds of pre-loved items, with a growing range of categories. Our platform connects millions of members across 20+ markets, helping great items find a new life.
Vinted Go enhances the shipping experience with a vast network of over 500,000 pick-up and drop-off points, partnering with more than 60 carriers across Europe, with added services like item verification for peace of mind on high-value pieces.
Vinted Pay is the newest part of the Vinted Group, dedicated to bringing secure, reliable payments to buyers and sellers across Europe. Seamlessly integrated into the Vinted app, it helps keep every transaction safe, efficient, and easy for our members.
Founded in 2008 in Lithuania, Vinted began as a way for friends to find new homes for clothes they no longer needed. In 2019, we became Lithuania's first unicorn! Today, our headquarters remain in Vilnius, and we've grown with offices across Europe, supported by a team of over 2,000 people. Our backers include Accel, EQT Growth, Insight Partners, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Sprints, and TPG.
Information about the position
As an AML/CTF Quality Assurance Specialist at Vinted Pay, you’ll help keep our AML controls effective and consistent and will drive positive changes. Your job is to independently test and review AML/CTF quality (like onboarding/KYC, SDD/CDD/EDD, PEP and sanctions screening decisions, transaction monitoring and alert handling, SAR/STR drafting, and case documentation) and make sure it meets our policies, quality standards and regulatory expectations.
You’ll sit within the Compliance/AML function (2nd line) and report to the Director of Compliance, while sharing regular insights with senior stakeholders. You’ll work closely with AML Operations, Product, Data, Legal and Customer Support - not to “catch people out”, but to spot patterns early, fix root causes, track remediation, provide training and make the whole system work better.
In this position, you’ll
- Run regular QA reviews across internal and outsourced AML/CTF processes (e.g., KYC/CDD/EDD files, PEP determination and rationale, sanctions screening outcomes, transaction monitoring alerts, investigations and escalation decisions)
- Check that case notes and evidence are complete, clear and audit‑ready
- Track defects, trends and recurring issues; provide clear feedback and agree practical fixes with the teams involved
- Maintain QA sampling plans, scorecards and QA procedures and keep them aligned with policy changes
- Support readiness for audits and regulatory reviews by producing QA reporting, examples and control evidence
- Help improve AML/CTF training and playbooks by turning QA findings into real-world guidance
- Escalate material issues and control gaps to the MLRO/senior Compliance leadership, and follow through until they’re closed
- Work with internal teams to improve quality upstream
- Provide regular QA reporting to the senior leadership
About you
- Experience (3+ years) within EU or UK based financial institution (either in QA, AML/CTF management/operations, or audit)
- Good knowledge of relevant AML/CTF regulation
- You can review a file and quickly tell what’s missing: evidence, logic, risk rationale, or just good documentation
- Confident with PEP, sanctions screening concepts, TM models, metrics and trend analysis (and comfortable challenging decisions respectfully)
- Clear, practical communicator - you can write feedback that people actually understand and act on
- Independent mindset with good judgement: you know when something is a minor fix vs. a real control issue
- Fluent English
