Analytics Engineer in Buyer, Supply & MLC - Marketplace
Brief info about Vinted
Our mission is to make second-hand the first choice, and we're looking for people who want to help us get there. Every day, we work together to help our members buy and sell pre-loved clothing and lifestyle items, giving each piece a second life – or even a third.
The Vinted Group is made up of three business units that support this mission:
Vinted Marketplace is Europe’s leading platform for second-hand fashion and a go-to destination for all kinds of pre-loved items, with a growing range of categories. Our platform connects millions of members across 20+ markets, helping great items find a new life.
Vinted Go enhances the shipping experience with a vast network of over 500,000 pick-up and drop-off points, partnering with more than 60 carriers across Europe, with added services like item verification for peace of mind on high-value pieces.
Vinted Pay is the newest part of the Vinted Group, dedicated to bringing secure, reliable payments to buyers and sellers across Europe. Seamlessly integrated into the Vinted app, it helps keep every transaction safe, efficient, and easy for our members.
Founded in 2008 in Lithuania, Vinted began as a way for friends to find new homes for clothes they no longer needed. In 2019, we became Lithuania's first unicorn! Today, our headquarters remain in Vilnius, and we've grown with offices across Europe, supported by a team of over 2,000 people.
Information about the position
As an Analytics Engineer in the Buyer, Supply & MLC area AE team, you’ll design, build, and maintain the business-critical data pipelines that drive Vinted's core product experience. You will develop robust, future-proof pipelines that ingest, process, and monitor data across the entire member journey, spanning Buyer (search, catalog, homepage), Supply (listing creation, attributes, categories), and Member Lifecycle MLC (push notifications, banners, CRM campaigns). While you will collaborate across the entire space, typically you will focus deeply on one of these specific domains.
You’ll partner closely with cross-functional Product Management, Data Science, and Operations teams across these three pillars, alongside a broader 40+ person Analytics Engineering Guild where you’ll leverage shared patterns, code reviews, and reusable dbt and Python components. In this end-to-end role across BigQuery, dbt, and Airflow, you’ll transform raw user behavior, catalog events, and CRM inputs into pipelines that power our ML models, trusted reporting datasets, and clear domain metrics.
You will report to the Analytics Engineering Manager for Buyer, Supply & MLC.
In this position, you’ll
- Architect, build, and maintain efficient, scalable, and reliable new data models and pipelines in dbt/BigQuery/Looker that turn complex buyer journeys, seller behaviors, and CRM metrics into decision-ready datasets.
- Continuously consult stakeholders within the company to collect data needs, translating these business requirements directly into functioning pipelines and robust data models.
- Ensure end-users are able to optimally use the data models by driving platform optimization, writing clear documentation, conducting training, and monitoring the adoption of best practices.
- Perform root cause analysis in case of data quality or process issues in production, owning reliability end-to-end and shipping fixes that prevent repeat failures.
- Implement data quality checks and controls (tests, regressions, anomaly detection) to ensure the highest integrity for core metrics like search conversion, listing success rates, CRM campaign click-throughs, and member retention.
About you
- Experience: About 3 years in Analytics Engineering or Data Engineering, with hands-on ownership of production data pipelines.
- Technical Stack: Strong SQL skills (writing clean, performant queries at scale) and hands-on dbt experience. Exposure to GCP/BigQuery, Airflow, Python, or Looker is a plus.
- Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with product analytics or marketplace dynamics (e.g., funnels, catalog metadata, user retention, CRM tracking) is a plus but not a must.
- Engineering Best Practices: Working knowledge of Git, version control, code reviews, and robust data testing/reconciliation.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication skills with a track record of consulting business stakeholders, translating product needs into technical delivery, and working collaboratively in English.
