We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer II (IC4) to join the Help Experience (HEX) domain, specifically the Lumos team, which owns the Self-Help experience at Vinted.

Our goal is to help buyers and sellers resolve their questions quickly and independently, without needing to contact support. We build and evolve the systems behind the Help Center. A key part of this role is building backend systems for Intent Recognition, helping move self-help from static keyword search toward semantic, context-aware discovery that surfaces more relevant answers based on user intent and context.

You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers, product managers, and designers to build and maintain the backend services powering these experiences. This includes developing reliable and scalable systems that deliver help content, support dynamic help journeys, and integrate with the broader support and marketplace platforms.

The space is evolving quickly. We’re continuously experimenting with new ways to improve the effectiveness of self-help, from improving knowledge discovery to enabling smarter automation and AI-assisted solutions. • Design and build scalable backend services powering Vinted’s Self-Help experience, including Help Center flows, FAQs, and knowledge delivery systems.
• Lead the technical design of complex backend features and improvements, ensuring systems remain reliable, observable, and maintainable.
• Contribute to the evolution of the Self-Help platform architecture, making pragmatic technical decisions that balance experimentation and long-term system health.
• Collaborate closely with a distributed team within the Netherlands, Germany and Lithuania to improve how users discover answers and resolve issues independently.
• Improve the quality and discoverability of help content by building systems that support dynamic help journeys and efficient knowledge delivery.
• Monitor and improve the reliability and performance of services supporting customer-facing help experiences.
• Act as a strong team player, communicating clearly, participating in technical discussions and team rituals, and contributing to a healthy engineering culture.
• Mentor and support other engineers, sharing best practices in backend development, system design, and operational excellence.

• Experienced backend engineer, ideally with strong hands-on experience building services in Go.
• Strong understanding of backend architecture and distributed systems, with the ability to make pragmatic design decisions.
• Comfortable evaluating technical trade-offs, balancing speed of delivery with long-term maintainability and system health.
• A proactive problem solver who takes initiative and helps drive technical improvements within the team.
• A collaborative team player, comfortable working closely with engineers, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders.
• Well organised and able to manage complex work, breaking down ambiguous problems into clear and actionable steps.
• Care deeply about engineering quality, including reliability, observability, scalability, and maintainable code.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with clear communication in both technical and cross-functional discussions.

The salary range for this position is €6,542 - €8,842 gross per month.
