Brief info about Vinted
Our mission is to make second-hand the first choice, and we're looking for people who want to help us get there. Every day, we work together to help our members buy and sell pre-loved clothing and lifestyle items, giving each piece a second life – or even a third.
The Vinted Group is made up of three business units that support this mission:
Vinted Marketplace is Europe’s leading platform for second-hand fashion and a go-to destination for all kinds of pre-loved items, with a growing range of categories. Our platform connects millions of members across 20+ markets, helping great items find a new life.
Vinted Go enhances the shipping experience with a vast network of over 500,000 pick-up and drop-off points, partnering with more than 60 carriers across Europe, with added services like item verification for peace of mind on high-value pieces.
Vinted Pay is the newest part of the Vinted Group, dedicated to bringing secure, reliable payments to buyers and sellers across Europe. Seamlessly integrated into the Vinted app, it helps keep every transaction safe, efficient, and easy for our members.
Founded in 2008 in Lithuania, Vinted began as a way for friends to find new homes for clothes they no longer needed. In 2019, we became Lithuania's first unicorn! Today, our headquarters remain in Vilnius, and we've grown with offices across Europe, supported by a team of over 2,000 people. Our backers include Accel, EQT Growth, Insight Partners, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Sprints, and TPG.
Information about the position
As an Analytics Engineer at Vinted Go, you will build and run the financial data pipelines that Finance teams depend on for accurate cost control and financial reporting—especially during Month-End Closing, when timing and correctness are non‑negotiable.
You’ll partner closely with:
- Vinted Go Financial Operations and Group-level Financial Reporting teams (mostly Vilnius-based), who use this data daily to reconcile shipping costs and revenue.
- A broader Vinted Go Analytics Engineering team (7 Analytics Engineers) plus a 40+ person Analytics Engineering Guild across Vinted, where you’ll benefit from established patterns, code reviews, reusable dbt and python components, and regular knowledge sharing.
This is an end-to-end role across BigQuery, DBT, Looker: from raw ingestion and transformations through to trusted, well-documented datasets and Finance-ready reporting.
In this position, you’ll
- Architect and build scalable and reliable financial data models in dbt/BigQuery/Looker that turn shipping operations & billing data into Finance-ready datasets used for cost control, reporting, reconciliation.
- Implement data quality checks and controls (tests, reconciliations, anomaly detection) to increase reliability and consistency of controlling and reporting operations.
- Own existing & extend monitoring and observability for critical pipelines (freshness, completeness, volume shifts, key metric drift) so issues are detected early and communicated clearly.
- Own production reliability by investigating incidents end-to-end, performing root-cause analysis, and shipping fixes that prevent repeat failures.
- Translate Finance needs into clear technical delivery by gathering requirements in plain language, aligning definitions (e.g., “what counts as shipped”, “which date drives recognition”), and turning them into documented models and metrics.
- Drive adoption and correct usage by writing practical documentation, enabling self-serve analysis, and partnering with Finance on training and change management when logic or definitions evolve.
About you
- Background in Financial Reporting, Controlling, Accounting, or a closely related area, with an understanding of why revenue/cost recognition accuracy matters and how Month-End Closing works in practice.
- Hands-on experience in Analytics Engineering or Data Engineering (typically around 2 years), or a closely related role with ownership of production pipelines.
- Strong SQL skills, including writing readable, maintainable queries and improving performance when datasets scale.
- Hands-on dbt experience, including building obvious, well-tested and performant models. Experience with the rest of our stack is a plus (Google Cloud Platform, Airflow, Python, Looker)
- Understanding of common data architectures and data modeling concepts, such as dimensional modeling, Kafka/Lambda architectures etc.
- Working knowledge of Git and collaboration practices (pull requests, code reviews, version control).
- Ability to work effectively with non-technical stakeholders, especially Finance - explaining trade-offs, clarifying definitions, and communicating incidents without jargon.
- Excellent English communication (written and spoken), with a habit of documenting decisions and changes clearly.
