Brief info about Vinted
Our mission is to make second-hand the first choice, and we're looking for people who want to help us get there. Every day, we work together to help our members buy and sell pre-loved clothing and lifestyle items, giving each piece a second life – or even a third.
The Vinted Group is made up of three business units that support this mission:
Vinted Marketplace is Europe’s leading platform for second-hand fashion and a go-to destination for all kinds of pre-loved items, with a growing range of categories. Our platform connects millions of members across 20+ markets, helping great items find a new life.
Vinted Go enhances the shipping experience with a vast network of over 500,000 pick-up and drop-off points, partnering with more than 60 carriers across Europe, with added services like item verification for peace of mind on high-value pieces.
Vinted Pay is the newest part of the Vinted Group, dedicated to bringing secure, reliable payments to buyers and sellers across Europe. Seamlessly integrated into the Vinted app, it helps keep every transaction safe, efficient, and easy for our members.
Founded in 2008 in Lithuania, Vinted began as a way for friends to find new homes for clothes they no longer needed. In 2019, we became Lithuania's first unicorn! Today, our headquarters remain in Vilnius, and we've grown with offices across Europe, supported by a team of over 2,000 people. Our backers include Accel, EQT Growth, Insight Partners, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Sprints, and TPG.
Information about the position
The Security domain at Vinted protects member accounts and keeps the platform safe by securing sign-up and login for both individuals and businesses, preventing fake or malicious registrations and automated bot activity, managing email/phone verification and two-factor authentication, reducing account takeovers, detecting inappropriate multiple-account use, and building the core systems that power identity, verification, and additional security checks when needed.
We’re looking for a Product Manager who is enthusiastic about ensuring the protection of our genuine users and prevention of malicious actors. You will lead the Vanguard team which is responsible for registration flow and optimization for our genuine users, for the defence mechanisms we have in place with our 3rd parties, communication with the partners and ongoing improvements there, and focus on multiple-accounts problem space. You will discover and experiment on initiatives such as adaptive registration (UX-first) and action known-bad patterns, introduce multilayered non-bot detection in registration and more.
In this position, you’ll
- Observe, identify, and clearly frame customer and business problems using quantitative and qualitative data.
- Own product discovery end-to-end, adapting the discovery plan based on the work required (research, experimentation, analysis, etc.).
- Shape the team’s research agenda by identifying strategic insight gaps and prioritizing learning accordingly.
- Bring clarity to ambiguous, cross-functional, or cross-team problems by defining constraints, scope, and success criteria.
- Operate at “system altitude,” understanding end-to-end journeys, signals, and key ecosystem dynamics for both malicious actors and genuine users.
- Create and own security products through measurable objectives and key results
- Team up with members from the business, engineering, design, data, legal and finance departments to find holistic solutions and strategies
- Understand technical architecture well enough to frame problems and solutions within real infrastructure constraints and feasibility.
- Own outcomes - monitor results, take corrective actions based on data, and decide when to scale, iterate, or roll back.
- Ensure leaders, partners, and adjacent teams understand what your team is doing and why it matters.
About you
- Several years product management experience in a fast-paced environment, partnering effectively with engineering, design, data, research, operations, and external vendors.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive alignment amid ambiguity, operating as a self-starter who takes initiative and ownership.
- Experience in the Security/Trust&Safety area is a plus. Proven track record of building products that protect genuine users and reduce abuse (e.g., registration/signup, identity, fraud/abuse prevention, bot detection, multi-accounting, trust & safety, or similar problem spaces).
- Excellent communication and co-creation skills, able to translate between technical and non-technical partners and align internal and external stakeholders (including 3rd-party providers).
- Able to advocate for security as a core part of the product experience (not an add-on), influencing priorities beyond your direct team and helping your team balance protection with a smooth member journey.
- Comfortable defining success and making decisions using a mix of qualitative insights and quantitative analysis.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on mindset - willing to roll up your sleeves to unblock execution and drive outcomes.
- Curious about the security problem space; proactive and motivated to improve Vinted while balancing security, user experience, and business impact.
