Senior Product Manager - Category Experience, Supply
Brief info about Vinted
Our mission is to make second-hand the first choice, and we're looking for people who want to help us get there. Every day, we work together to help our members buy and sell pre-loved clothing and lifestyle items, giving each piece a second life – or even a third.
The Vinted Group is made up of three business units that support this mission:
Vinted Marketplace is Europe’s leading platform for second-hand fashion and a go-to destination for all kinds of pre-loved items, with a growing range of categories. Our platform connects millions of members across 20+ markets, helping great items find a new life.
Vinted Go enhances the shipping experience with a vast network of over 500,000 pick-up and drop-off points, partnering with more than 60 carriers across Europe, with added services like item verification for peace of mind on high-value pieces.
Vinted Pay is the newest part of the Vinted Group, dedicated to bringing secure, reliable payments to buyers and sellers across Europe. Seamlessly integrated into the Vinted app, it helps keep every transaction safe, efficient, and easy for our members.
Founded in 2008 in Lithuania, Vinted began as a way for friends to find new homes for clothes they no longer needed. In 2019, we became Lithuania's first unicorn! Today, our headquarters remain in Vilnius, and we've grown with offices across Europe, supported by a team of over 2,000 people. Our backers include Accel, EQT Growth, Insight Partners, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Sprints, and TPG.
Information about the position
You will own the vision and roadmap for how everything on Vinted is structured, described, and discovered. This role sits at the heart of the marketplace, shaping the category structure and metadata that power how millions of items are listed, found, and bought every day.
Your mission is to unlock Vinted’s evolution from a fashion-first marketplace into a truly multi-vertical platform — spanning Electronics, Home, and Collectables — while preserving the simplicity and consistency users love. You’ll define the product strategy that lets Vinted scale horizontally without fragmenting the experience.
This is a high-impact, horizontal product role. You set the rules for how items are organized across the entire marketplace, designing the connective tissue between Supply (making it effortless for sellers to list accurately) and Discovery (making it intuitive for buyers to find exactly what they want through search and filters). The decisions you make here shape every listing, every search, and every transaction.
Team Setup
You will operate in a unique structure that combines product strategy with operational execution:
- Your Team: You work within a dedicated product team that owns the category experience
- Operational Team: You are the primary product partner for the Taxonomy team (1 Manager + 4 Taxonomists + 1 Ops Specialist). They execute the manual category changes and rule updates based on the roadmap you define.
- Data Support: You'll partner with Decision Scientists to help model category performance and attribute usage.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap:
- Develop and own the rolling 12-month roadmap for category optimizations and expansion.
- Decide the "Minimum Viable Experience" for new verticals: determine which attributes are mandatory vs. optional to balance listing speed with search relevance.
Opportunity Discovery:
- Use marketplace analysis and user research to identify high-impact category problems (e.g., "Users can't find 'Vintage' items because the attribute is hidden").
- Validate these opportunities through prototyping and testing before rolling them out at scale.
Cross-Domain Leadership:
- Act as the single point of contact for cross-domain category challenges. You don't just build for your team; you define the data standards that the Search, Listing, and Shipping teams rely on.
- Escalate unresolved trade-offs (e.g., Commercial wants more granular categories vs. Design wants a simpler UI) with evidence and clear recommendations.
Metrics & Performance:
- Define and track success metrics for the domain, specifically: Entity Performance (conversion rates per category), Time-to-First-Click (search efficiency), and Attribute Completeness.
- Partner with Decision Scientists to build dashboards that monitor the health of our catalog structure.
The Challenge
- Horizontal Influence: You drive initiatives that require work from engineering squads in other domains (e.g., updating the Upload Form UI). You must be able to align stakeholders and steer delivery without always having direct authority over the execution resources.
- Complexity Management: You are the gatekeeper. You will constantly receive requests to add new niche categories. Your job is to assess the value of these requests against the complexity they add to the platform.
Who You Are
- Experience: Proven experience in product management within e-commerce, marketplace, or catalog-focused domains.
- Analytical: You are comfortable defining metrics, working with Data Scientists, and using data to make trade-off decisions.
- Communication: Excellent ability to synthesize technical constraints (metadata structure) and business needs (vertical growth) into clear written specifications.
- Bonus: Experience with metadata design, search relevance, or AI-driven classification systems.
