Information about the position
As General Counsel and a member of the Group Leadership Team, you will lead the legal and compliance strategy for one of Europe’s most dynamic technology companies. You will oversee a large and diverse legal team of approximately 50 professionals, including specialised subfunctions such as Legal Operations, as well as corporate, commercial, employment, regulatory, data privacy, and compliance.
You will take a leading role in continuing to grow Vinted’s maturity, overseeing all legal and compliance aspects related to governance, structuring, and regulatory readiness. This role is central to ensuring that the company operates with integrity, mitigates risk, and remains fully aligned with its long-term commercial goals.
You will collaborate closely with senior leaders across all Business Units plus Finance and the People functions, to integrate legal strategy with broader business priorities, helping shape a resilient, compliant, and future-ready organisation.
In this position, you’ll
- Lead and develop a large international legal team (~50 people) to deliver expert guidance across all legal disciplines and jurisdictions.
- Take full ownership of the legal and compliance dimensions of IPO readiness, including corporate governance, securities compliance, internal controls, disclosure planning, and due diligence.
- Work closely with the CEO, CFO, external advisors, and board members to ensure Vinted is prepared for life as a public company.
- Set the vision and direction for Vinted’s global legal and compliance function, aligned with long-term growth objectives.
- Drive alignment between legal strategy and business priorities, ensuring legal frameworks enable and protect business innovation.
- Maintain strong, proactive collaboration with Finance, People, and operational leaders to ensure compliance and integration of legal strategy across all business functions.
- Oversee legal risk management, ensuring issues are identified early, managed effectively, and embedded into business decision-making.
- Build scalable systems and policies to maintain compliance with all relevant laws and regulations across our operating markets.
- Represent Vinted externally with regulators, auditors, legal advisors, and investors, upholding the company’s legal credibility and integrity.
- Foster a culture of ownership, high performance, and continuous improvement within the legal function.
About you
- 12+ years of legal experience, ideally with a combination of top-tier law firm and senior in-house roles, including General Counsel or equivalent.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing and scaling legal teams, ideally across multiple jurisdictions and disciplines.
- Demonstrated expertise in a leading function in a public company or having participated in IPO preparation, capital markets regulation, and governance for public company readiness.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to integrate legal thinking into broader business strategy.
- Deep knowledge of the legal landscape across Europe and/or North America, especially in the context of tech platforms or marketplaces.
- Proven track record of building trusted relationships with C-level leaders, boards, and external stakeholders.
- Excellent judgment, decisiveness, and communication skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity with confidence.
- Strong alignment with Vinted’s mission and culture of collaboration, sustainability, and empowerment.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.

Hybrid Work
We’ve adopted a hybrid workplace model where 2 days in office are recommended but not enforced. It’s up to you and your team to decide on the exact days you’ll spend working together in person. The majority of the leadership team are based in our Vilnius HQ, frequent and possibly last minute travel will be required of this role if not based in Vilnius and the expectation for a candidate who is not based in Vilnius is to spend a minimum of 50% of their time in Vilnius. Travel to our hubs is also anticipated.

The salary for this position starts at 170,000 EUR yearly gross, with the final offer determined based on your experience, expertise, and the overall value you bring to the role.
