As a Senior Data Scientist at Vinted Go, you will join the Data team at the heart of building the in-house logistics carrier of Vinted. You’ll collaborate closely with a team of 20+ Data colleagues to develop and deploy machine learning, optimisation and simulation applications that directly power Vinted Go Carrier Product and Operations. This role is about more than just building models; you will contribute to establishing Vinted Go Carrier Data Science capability from the ground up and co-create data science road-map alongside data, product, engineering and operations colleagues.

You will have an opportunity to tackle a broad range of high-impact logistics and transportation data science challenges, such as driver routing, network and warehouse simulations, network capacity and scoring, robotics optimisation, shipping fraud detection, forecasting etc. You will own a subset of these complex problems end-to-end, from scoping through to implementation - proactively identifying ways to maximize your own impact by aligning technical solutions with Vinted Go’s strategic objectives.

• Analytics Engineers are responsible for data curation – translating data needs from stakeholders into architecting, building and maintaining efficient & reliable data models and pipelines.
• Decision Scientists are responsible for actionable insights, identifying and sizing opportunities, and automated tools that increase the quality of product and business decisions by applying statistical methods and data-driven decision-making.
• Data Scientists are responsible for identifying algorithmic opportunities, ensuring those opportunities are addressed optimally, and designing, developing, and maintaining production-grade statistical and machine learning algorithms.

• Partner with Product, Engineering, Operations, and other Data Scientists to co-create a data science roadmap that leverages machine learning, optimisation and simulation solutions to scale Vinted Go Carrier
• Design and implement end-to-end data science models focusing on logistics and transportation applications, moving from initial scoping to proof of concepts and production-grade solutions
• Contribute state-of-the-art knowledge about data science algorithms to ensure the competitiveness of Vinted Go through technology
• Work with Decision Scientists to conduct experiments on new machine learning features or data science models, both offline and through A/B tests
• Partner with Engineers and Data Platform on the operationalisation of the data science products leveraging a modern tech stack including an in-house machine learning platform, Google Cloud Platform, Python, and dbt
• Partner with Product and Operations on the estimation of opportunity sizes for data science initiatives
• Lead in domain-level initiatives on data science and AI

• Have a strong technical background through a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• Extensive experience developing and productionising data science algorithms; you are comfortable choosing the right machine learning, optimisation, or simulation techniques independently
• Expert in Python and SQL; you write clean, maintainable, and structured code that serves as an inspiration for others
• You are an effective communicator: you can persuasively explain complex technical concepts and their business implications to non-data stakeholders
• Proven ability to own a data science problem end-to-end, from scoping to implementation and monitoring without requiring constant oversight
• Able to break down complex problems into manageable pieces and estimate project timelines while accounting for delivery uncertainty
• A proactive team player who identifies when their work affects other domains and aligns cross-functionally
• Fluent written and spoken English
