We are part of Payments business unit that ensures secure and efficient transactions, enhances the user experience, and drives successful transactions through a reliable platform with advanced fraud prevention and tailored payment solutions. At Vinted Pay our mission is to create a global, revenue-generating, multi-service financial platform that will accelerate Vinted’s mission — making second hand the first choice.
As a Backend engineer, you'll join a newly forming Marketplace Payments product team that focuses on AML and KYC processes by ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and protecting the platform from money laundering activities.
The new team will consist of all roles required to fulfill our area’s development needs: multiple backend engineers, iOS, Web, Android, test automation engineer, decision and data scientists, a Designer, an Engineering Manager and a Product Manager.

In this position, you’ll
- Work in a cross-functional team and shape the features to make our members’ life better.
- Advocate for best practices, influence technical direction, and ensure quality from the outset of the team’s work.
- Partner effectively across multiple Payments domain teams to prioritize tasks and deliver impactful results.
- Collaborate with other developers through GitHub pull requests and code reviews
- See your code impact 80+ million users almost instantly, as our code gets rolled out straight to production on each merge, and do it reliably with feature switches and scalable A/B tests.
- Craft the code which can handle more than 2M requests per minute.
- Take ownership of Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) within the product team, ensuring reliability and performance.
- Offer direct and constructive feedback within the team and larger functions. Actively seek feedback from peers to foster personal and team growth.
About you
- Strong backend engineering skills, with experience in Ruby and Go (or willingness to learn).
- Familiarity with observability practices.
- Eagerness and willingness to learn new concepts and technologies.
- Working experience with relational and in-memory databases, including MySQL and Redis.
- You effectively balance short-term needs with long-term stability.
- You are taking the lead in addressing issues and driving improvements, even without explicit direction
- You are capable of working in the team as well as independently
- A good communicator who can talk clearly about complicated topics both with business people and engineers

The salary range for this position is € 3,558 - € 4,808 gross per month.
