As a Decision Scientist at Vinted, you’ll be part of our Payments domain, which is responsible for processing payments across the Vinted Marketplace and developing Vinted Pay, our new payment organisation. You’ll work in a cross-functional product team focused on Vinted Pay, collaborating closely with a Product Manager, Engineering Manager, Front-end and Back-end Engineers, and a Decision Scientist (to be hired).

In this role, you’ll also be part of the Data Science & Analytics (DSA) function, reporting to the DSA Manager for Vinted Pay. You’ll work alongside the Owls team, stakeholders, and fellow DSA colleagues to support decision-making, solve everyday data challenges, and enhance our analytical capabilities.

Within DSA, we have three distinct roles. We believe that each role can make a similarly sized business impact in different ways, and therefore, our salary ranges are the same for all three roles. To understand your role within DSA context better, here are brief descriptions of each role we have in the department:

• Analytics Engineers are responsible for data curation – translating data needs from stakeholders into architecting, building and maintaining efficient & reliable data models and pipelines.
• Decision Scientists are responsible for generating actionable insights and identifying and scoping opportunities. They maintain and contribute to automated tools that increase the quality of product and business decisions by applying statistical methods and data-driven decision-making.
• Data Scientists are responsible for the identification of algorithmic opportunities, ensuring those opportunities are addressed in an optimal fashion and designing, developing and maintaining production-grade statistical and machine learning algorithms.

• Join a cross-functional product team dedicated to building Vinted Pay, our new payment service provider.
• Leverage statistical and analytical tools to drive informed business decisions and strategy.
• Own the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of key business metrics.
• Design, execute, and analyse A/B tests, present findings, and enhance our experimentation capabilities.
• Lead or contribute to projects that uncover opportunities, optimise operations, and improve business processes using analytics, statistics, machine learning, and automation.
• Collaborate with colleagues on broader Payments domain and Data Science & Analytics (DSA) function initiatives.
• Expand your expertise in payments, analytics engineering, decision science, data science, and machine learning through hands-on experience and your allocated learning budget.

• Experience in Data Analytics within a product team
• Strong statistical skills, with A/B testing experience as a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, able to present complex topics clearly and persuasively to different audiences.
• Analytical, strategic, and business acumen, with a problem-solving mindset.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with dashboarding tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau).
• Hands-on experience with at least one statistical programming language (Python, R, etc.).

The salary range for this position is €3,200 - €5,800 gross per month
