What is the Data Science and Analytics Academy?

The Data Science & Analytics (DSA) Academy is designed to support budding Data scientists, Decision scientists, and Analytics engineers as they begin their upward career trajectory at Vinted. Where participants can develop their existing data science knowledge and skills, and apply them to real, impactful team projects. 

This is a paid one-year programme with the opportunity to transition to a permanent role, starting in October 2024 in Vilnius or Kaunas. In the first 12 months you will be part of a rotation programme lasting six months each in different teams and domains, a unique learning experience that will help you to understand and grow in the field of Data Science & Analytics with Vinted. 

After a week of technical and company onboarding, you’ll be ready to dive in and start deepening your skills on the job, by joining some more senior colleagues on team projects. What’s more, while in the academy, you’ll have the full support of a mentor and will take part in workshops to enhance your knowledge not only in data science and analytics, but also in your own career building skills (such as goal setting, communication and problem-solving).

 

Data Science & Analytics at Vinted

Within Data Science & Analytics (DSA) we have three distinct roles. We believe that each role can make a similarly sized business impact in different ways and therefore our salary ranges are the same for all three roles. To understand your role within DSA context better, here are brief descriptions of each role we have in the department:

Decision Scientists are responsible for actionable insights, identifying and seizing opportunities, and automated tools that increase the quality of product and business decisions by applying statistical methods and data-driven decision making.

Data Scientists are responsible for identification of algorithmic opportunities, ensuring those opportunities are addressed in an optimal fashion and design, development and maintenance of production-grade statistical and machine learning algorithms.

Analytics Engineers are responsible for data curation – translating data needs from stakeholders into architecting, building and maintaining efficient & reliable data models and pipelines.

When?

Our Data Science and Analytics Academy will begin on October 7th. You will be expected to be available full time from that date.

About you

  • Willing to learn new things
  • Have good problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Passionate about delivering data driven insights to various stakeholders
  • Have excellent written and verbal communications skills in English
  • Ready to commit, own and create
  • Familiar with SQL and can comfortably pull data out from a SQL database
  • Have coding basics in Python
  • Have some statistics background (education focus on mathematics/statistics/econometrics/computer science preferred or relevant work experience)

Working At Vinted

Individual Learning Budget

Vinted will set aside a yearly sum equal to 10-13.2% of your annual salary to be invested in your continuous professional development. You’ll be able to take the initiative to use it for covering relevant learning activities that benefit your role.

Hybrid Work 

We’ve adopted a hybrid workplace model where 2 days in office are recommended but not enforced. It’s up to you and your team to decide on the exact days you’ll spend working together in person.
