Information about the position 

The design & research function contributes to achieving Vinteds' mission by creating an unmatched user experience. We strive to develop products and services that are indispensably useful, trustworthy & easy to use for our members. The Design Operations domain focuses on making our teams more efficient - achieving more with what we have while maintaining high levels of well-being.

As the Manager of Design Operations, you will join the Function leadership and Design-Engineering Experience domain leadership teams. Your responsibilities will include monitoring and improving the overall operational efficiency and managing the implementation of the design and research function roadmap. You will take ownership of our tools and lead the Design System and Accessibility program teams. You will collaborate with leaders in Design, Research, Content Design, Localisation, and Engineering Experience, as well as individual contributors and cross-disciplinary partners, to launch and manage impactful programs.

In this position, you’ll 

  • Lead the Design system and Accessibility teams.
  • Identify and prioritise opportunities for the design and research function to become more collaborative, aligned, efficient, and impactful.
  • Design new and optimise existing processes and programs function-wide.
  • Measure the effectiveness of design operations.
  • Coordinate ongoing operational initiatives, manage the function roadmap, and enable team members to effectively contribute to shaping operations.
  • Document frameworks and train teams to ensure consistent operational quality across distributed teams.
  • Collaborate successfully with peers, partners and senior leaders from design, engineering and other functions to prioritise opportunities and gain buy-in for identified initiatives.
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of design & research tools and contribute to the quality experience of tools used by other functions.

About you 

  • Solid product design background: Deeply understands the conditions in which impactful and beautiful designs are shipped to end users.
  • A track record of shipping impactful programs. An ideal candidate would have led/been a part of an ops function in a mature design team.
  • Proficiency in design systems and design tooling.
  • Proven experience in building strong, collaborative teams.
  • A stellar program manager and complex project coordinator.
  • An excellent stakeholder manager: a crisp communicator, analytical observer and an effective facilitator.
  • A willingness to fail and learn. Earnest, mature, and ego-free. You welcome candid feedback and can constructively give it as well.
