Information about the position 

Join our team as the Manager of Data Science and Analytics for Buyer Intelligence, where you'll spearhead efforts to revolutionize our search engines, product categories, and discovery channels. Working within the Buyer domain, your mission will be to harness the vast data resources from our global markets, crafting state-of-the-art recommendation systems to optimize the buyer experience.

As the linchpin of Buyer Intelligence, you'll lead a team of Decision Scientists and Analytics Engineers, driving data-driven insights and innovative solutions. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including Product Managers, Engineers, Designers, and fellow Data Scientists, you'll play a pivotal role in accelerating experimentation and product development. In this position, you’ll 

  • Lead a team of data specialists (Buyer Intelligence) and shape your team’s processes, rituals, and vision
  • Collaborate with direct stakeholders to identify strategic opportunities and answer key business questions
  • Contribute/own the key performance indicators for a team, including selection, tracking, forecasting, and proactively flagging issues
  • Maintain a backlog with prioritised hypotheses and analyses
  • Contribute to the most complex challenges through hands-on technical contribution
  • Enable your team and direct stakeholders to independently leverage data for business insights via self-serving and dashboarding tools (Looker)

About you 

  • Have demonstrable experience leading teams (ideally developing data products)
  • Programming experience (Python/Spark/Scala/R)
  • Proficient in SQL and experience with dashboarding tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau, etc.)
  • Statistical proficiency (e.g. A/B testing, regression analysis)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Highly business-oriented and comfortable with iterative processes
  • A good communicator who can present complex topics clearly and persuasively to different audiences
  • Are able to balance between analyses depth (time needed) and business impact
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Advantage: experience working in a tech company or in a cross-functional product development team

Vinted will set aside a yearly sum equal to 10-13.2% of your annual salary to be invested in your continuous professional development. You’ll be able to take the initiative to use it for covering relevant learning activities that benefit your role.

Hybrid Work 

We’ve adopted a hybrid workplace model where 2 days in office are recommended but not enforced. It’s up to you and your team to decide on the exact days you’ll spend working together in person.
