Information about the position 

As a Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for developing the web crawling tools required for website data extraction and ingestion. You will be part of the Backend Technologies team, whose main purpose is to provide technical capabilities for the other Marketplace teams. The team consists exclusively of backend engineers, ensuring you always have someone to discuss and bounce ideas off of.

Additionally, you will closely collaborate with the Data Science & Analytics and Strategy teams, as they will be the main stakeholders, ensuring that we are building the right product.

In this position, you’ll 

  • Work with the Data Science & Analytics and Strategy teams to understand the technical and business requirements.
  • Define the overall architecture of web scraping functionality.
  • Build and maintain web scraping services.
  • Collaborate with the Infrastructure Engineering teams to find the best way to scale the applications.
  • Monitor your code through Kibana, Grafana, or other tools of your choice.
  • Define ambitious quarterly objectives and ensure their successful delivery.
  • Collaborate with other developers through GitHub pull requests and code reviews.
  • Provide consultation on the best practices of web scraping.
  • Be part of the Backend Technologies team responsible for providing technical capabilities for the rest of the Marketplace teams.

About you 

  • Experienced in building large-scale web scraping applications.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

The salary range for this position is € 4,975 - € 6,725 gross per month.
