Information about the position 

We’re the Vinted’s Cloud team, working in the Production Engineering domain and building multi-cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, and Cloudflare.

We are looking for an engineer who would help us evolve and maintain our Payments product on Amazon Web Services. It's an independent product from Vinted’s on-prem infrastructure, and all services are running on AWS: EKS, RDS, VPC, EC2, S3, OpenSearch, and many others.

We manage our whole infrastructure configuration as code in Git repositories, automated tests on every pull request, and tooling for quick deployments at scale with Terraform, Terragrunt, Atlantis, and GitHub Actions.

Here are some of the other technologies we use (with links to our blog!): RockyLinux 8, Kubernetes, Docker, Nginx, ArgoCD, Karpenter, MySQL, Vitess, Redis, Kafka, Temporal, Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Ruby, Golang, and Wiz. 

In this position, you’ll  

  • Build and maintain payment infrastructure on AWS
  • Write code to automate manual work
  • Define the architecture for cloud-based services
  • Consult Vinted engineers on cloud technologies and best practices
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in our infrastructure and build solutions to implement them
  • Monitor and debug problems in production to meet established SLO's
  • Participate in an on-call rotation with the team every few weeks (depending on the team size)

About you 

  • Experienced in at least one major cloud provider: AWS, GCP or Azure
  • Strong knowledge of provisioning and configuration management systems like Terraform and Ansible
  • Experienced in Linux and have solid networking fundamentals
  • Experienced in containerisation and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Comfortable with standard software development components such as code version control systems (Git), automated testing, and continuous integration
  • Previous working experience at scale and a good track record of delivering complex technical solutions
  • Have hands-on experience in software development or/and infrastructure automation
  • Good written and spoken technical communication skills
  • Fluent in English
