Information about the position 

We are currently looking for a Senior Director of People Shared Operations & Infrastructure to join our team. Reporting to the VP of People, you will assume leadership of the infrastructural foundations of the People function, ensuring we provide top-tier service to our employee-customers through state-of-the-art tech and human interaction focusing on moments that truly matter. This scope of this role includes several critical areas:

People Operations, Shared Services Unit: You will lead the strategic direction of our Shared Services Unit who are responsible for supporting our employees from the moment they are hired through exit. This will involve supporting the team as they establish and execute scalable, automated processes and implement the necessary tools to prepare Vinted for future growth.

People Tech Infrastructure: You will oversee the People Tech & Systems teams responsible for managing and scaling our people technology infrastructure (centred around Workday and Greenhouse). Our strategic aim is to automate all routine and manual processes so our team can focus on providing hands-on support only where they are best suited to do so. Collaboration with stakeholders from other parts of the People team, IT, and Finance will be essential in achieving your vision.

Workplace Experience: You will also oversee our Workplace real estate, facilities, and operations strategy, ensuring all Vinted employees have everything they need to do their best work whether they are at one of our offices or at their desk at home. Your role will include aligning Workplace direction with Company and People objectives including areas such as People (Engagement, Inclusion), Sustainability, and Cost-Efficiency goals. There is a high-functioning team in place. 

All in all, your team will consist of approx. 35 people. As a key partner to our VP of People and a member of the People Leadership Team, you will be a key contributor to the overall departmental strategy far beyond your scope. In this position, you’ll 

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for People Shared Operations & Infrastructure that aligns with Vinted's overall business objectives and People strategy. Drive continuous improvement and innovation across all areas of responsibility.
  • Lead and scale the Shared Services Unit, ensuring the delivery of exceptional employee support throughout the employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding. Foster a culture of proactive problem-solving and continuous process optimization through automation and effective tooling.
  • Drive the strategy, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Vinted's people technology infrastructure, with a focus on Workday. Drive automation of routine tasks and manual processes to enhance efficiency and data accuracy, enabling the People team to focus on strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee a holistic Workplace Experience strategy encompassing real estate, facilities, and operations to create productive and engaging work environments for all employees, whether in office or remote.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of professionals across People Operations, People Tech, Real Estate and Workplace Experience.
  • Partner effectively with key stakeholders across the People team (Talent Acquisition, Business Partners, Strategy & Planning, etc.), IT, Finance, and other departments to ensure seamless integration and delivery of services. We work in a non-siloed environment with strong collaboration across all People disciplines.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators to track the effectiveness and efficiency of People Shared Operations & Infrastructure. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
  • Serve as a key member of the People Leadership Team, contributing to the overall departmental strategy, decision-making, and fostering a cohesive and collaborative People function.

About you

  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into actionable plans
  • Significant experience (typically 10+ years) in responsible leadership roles within People Operations, HR Technology, or related functions, with a proven track record of building and scaling shared services and technology infrastructure in large, international tech companies
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus
  • Strong understanding of HR processes and best practices across the employee lifecycle
  • Deep expertise in HR technology platforms, familiarity with Workday advantageous
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Experience hiring & leading teams of 10+ people and a well-honed, authentic, empathetic and effective leadership style; have led managers of managers
  • A high level of fluency in English (written and spoken)
  • Proven ability to drive operational excellence, process improvement, and automation initiatives
  • Experience setting up a shared service centre would be incredible but as a minimum you should have partnered with people in that department and understand how they operate
  • Having led Workplace experience or office management teams is a plus
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment is highly desirable
